#ArtLitPhx: Reflections Exhibition

“Reflections” is an undergraduate exhibition that will be held at Gallery 100 March 19 through 23. Opening reception will be held Tuesday, March 20th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The purpose of Gallery 100 has been to provide students, faculty, and academic professionals of the School of Art with exhibition space that serves the needs of the school. In accordance with the overall objectives of Arizona State University, the gallery supports the research, teaching, and public service functions of the school.

The gallery hosts senior BFA group exhibitions in drawing, painting, photography, intermedia, digital art, fibers, ceramics, metals, sculpture, and printmaking and occasionally serves as a venue for larger group curatorial efforts. The gallery is operated by student gallery attendants and maintained by the galleries director, gallery technician, and the BFA students during their group exhibition period.

Established in November 2003, Gallery 100 became the ASU School of Art’s fourth gallery. Located just north of the ASU Art Museum on Mill Ave., the gallery is accessible to the local community as well as ASU’s art students and hosts weekly student art receptions.

teach_and_be_taught

ASU Sun Devils have gone on to be Teach For America corps members in one of our 50 regions across the United States. Rather than shrug our shoulders, it’s time to roll up our sleeves. Everyone deserves a chance to be a Sun Devil. All children in this country deserve an education that gives them the opportunity to realize their fullest potential.

Today, fewer than 10 percent of kids from low-income communities graduate from college. By becoming part of Teach For America, you join remarkable people from all backgrounds and professions who rise to the challenge to do what is right for kids. As a corps member, you’ll teach for at least two years in a low-income community, where you’ll show students what’s possible when they work hard and dream big. And as your students thrive, you’ll grow in ways you never imagined.

This year, nearly 9,000 corps members teach in 52 regions across the country, while nearly 42,000 Teach For America alumni continue to work from inside and outside the field of education to make an excellent education a reality for all. Our Corps Members point to their two years in Teach For America as among the most impactful of their lives. As alumni, they go on to tackle the problem of educational inequity from every angle- the career educator, the Civil Rights attorney, the ed tech entrepreneur, the socially- conscious CEO. No matter what field you wish to pursue in the long-term, Teach For America can give you the foundation and network upon which to grow your career.

Let your job lead to your purpose. Change and be changed. Apply to the 2016 corps today.

The next application deadlines are Thursday, September 10th and Friday, October 30th. To learn more, visit www.teachforamerica.org or, if you are an Arizona State University student, contact Teach for America’s campus representative directly at Veronica.Aguilar@teachforamerica.org.
